10" 78 rpm record. Victor, 21566, issued in approximately 1939. Xavier Cugat and His Waldorf-Astoria Orchestra, vocal by Dinah Shaw: The Thrill of a New Romance / Havana For a Night. EXCELLENT PLUS (NEAR MINT) condition; very shiny, nearly new, with a few very light scratches. 78s are graded accordingly: E (Excellent)++, Nearly New with no visible signs of wear or damageE+, Looks & plays like new, with very, very few signs of handlingE+/E, In-between gradeE, Still very shiny, near new looking, with slight visible signs of wear and a few nearly inaudible scuffs and scratchesE/E-, In-between gradeE-, Still shiny but without the luster of a new record, few light scratches.VG (Very Good)++, In-between gradeVG+, Slightly above average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronouncedVG+/VG, In-between gradeVG, An average condition 78 - moderate wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface somewhat dull with noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.VG/VG-, In-between gradeVG-, Quite playable still, but distortion and heavy graying in loud passages. Music remains loud in most passages.
