Follow me on Facebook (KingVinyl Records)! [0134-AD] Welcome, and thank you for stopping by! I have been a vinyl record collector and in the business of records since 1968. I began my career at the great and incomparable Sam Goody Record store in Paramus, New Jersey. It was a huge store and carried thousands of records of all types. I managed to work in each different department, getting a priceless musical education along the way. Learning about folk, jazz, blues, rock, popular and classical from both customers and staff, I developed a keen appreciation and love of all different musical styles. I managed Sam Goody store in Wayne, New Jersey. Eventually I moved on to better, and bigger things. Managing the great EJ Korvettes record store, also in Wayne, was very exciting. The record companies provided comps to the Bottom Line and CBGB in New York City, concert tickets, and numerous promos. It was super fun to be in the business as unknowns as Bruce Springsteen, Blondie, the Talking Heads, The Ramones, were discovered and became stars. Finally, I ended my career as a manager at the Disc-o-Mat store in Paramus, New Jersey. I was manager, DJ (we actually spun records in the store), buyer, promoter. Over all of the years since, my love of music has not diminished. I still scour the flea markets, garage sales, and consignment shops, asking my familiar and somewhat time-worn question: "Hey, ya gotta any vinyl?" Enjoy my offerings, as I make every attempt to find and offer for sale excellent quality discs. Everything is visually inspected and graded according to Goldmine standards (see below). If anything, I probably under-rate the vinyl. I offer a guarantee of everything I sell. If you are not satisfied, please let me know. Happy vinyl hunting! Goldmine Grading System Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way. Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record. Very Good Plus (VG+) A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK". The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.
