A Complete and UNIQUE pressing of this BEATLES masterpiece, that plays with TOP AUDIO.Super Clear 1st STEREO Export mix, which packs amazing drive and punch. The Beatles, later known as the White Album, had over a quarter of a million advance orders, and of course went straight to number 1. This was the first double album EVER to get to the top slot where it stayed for 7 weeks in a row. It sold so many, that once again The Beatles also made the singles chart, consequently the ONLY double album to ever enter that chart. By the end of the year, just over a month later, the white album had sold over 4,000,000 copies worldwide, and by the end of 1970 global sales were around 6.5 million. At that time this was the biggest selling double album of all time. The sleeve design was by Richard Hamilton, who suggested the minimalistic approach and the consecutively numbered sleeves which would give a limited edition feel to it. Richard also came up with the montage idea for the large free poster, which included the lyrics on it's rear. The four free colour prints were taken by John Kelly. Every single original pressing was unique, and came with a great collection of additional material. Also a ground breaking album, THE WHITE ALBUM is one of the great vinyl collectables of all time. ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:Yes – Amazing bright clear sound quality throughout! This great record plays up to the visual and audio grading and beyond, with incredible clear sound that is almost impossible to find on any early White Albums and also unique to these rare EXPORT pressings. The White Album is a complex and varied collection of music, and is also a relatively sensitive piece of vinyl, and hard to find in clear audio condition. Worn copies can have a lot of surface sound even on musically complex and busy tracks like ' Helter Skelter .' This pressing has super strong undistorted audio, with incredibly clear sound. It really sounds great and plays with great sound separation and clarity. I can't remember ever hearing any original pressing of the White Album that has played with such incredibly bright, clear loud audio. It almost sounds like a completely different mix. Superb sound, every track has been tested and I could find no obvious sound blemishes. Some light occasional static, and it is light and occasional, the vast majority of the album sounds incredibly fresh and clean. Wonderful TOP audio, there are obviously NO sticks or jumps what so ever, NO distortion and little surface sound between the tracks. I will give a detailed account below: Bursting in with 'Back in the USSR' this great track often plays with lots of loud static and at times with a jump, that came as a pressing fault on some early editions. Not here! It plays with great audio, barely any detectable light occasional background static at all, and the run in grooves play with near silence. Unbelievable. 'Dear Prudence', such a hard track for the White Album, nearly always prone to heavy wear being the first quiet track on the record, here sounds great. Again barely any detectable light occasional background static, and no pops or clicks, incredibly bright audio. Perfect audio. 'Glass Onion' sounds super crisp and clear. No pops or clicks and not a hint of blurring or distortion. 'Obla Di Obla Da' also sounds great, and 'Honey Pie' plays very clearly leading into 'Bungalow Bill' which plays great. still No light repeating pops or clicks. Just amazing bright perfect audio. Still no pops or clicks or loud static. There is barely any light static between tracks, and certainly nothing obtrusive. 'My Guitar Gently Weeps' plays superbly, minimal static, and no loud pops or clicks during the music, just beautiful clear, sharp loud music. A bit of very light static between these two tracks but still no tics or pops. 'Happiness' rounds off side 1. again with bright clear sound. No pops or clicks anywhere, just great bright sound. Fantastic! Side 2. of the White Album virtually always starts of with heavy static. Here there is minimal static at the start of ' Martha My Dear ' and not a single pop or click throughout. 'So Tired' plays really well with minimal static, absolutely stunning audio. I detected no light static tics and certainly no pops or clicks. Leading into 'Blackbird', of course one of the quietest tracks on the record. Here it plays with lovely clear bright sound, no distortion, no pops, very little static to be found and one or two light static tics at the start. 'Piggies' sounds great, nice clear sound with no light tics. 'Rocky Racoon', another sparse track plays superbly, with great clear sound. No pops, no clicks, some very light very occasional static only. Leading into 'Don't Pass Me By', which plays with absolutely superb quality. 'Why Don't We Do It in The Road' also plays great with no pops, no clicks, and absolutely minimal background static. 'I Will' and the beautiful 'Julia', always a major test for the White Album, being such a tender and sparse track. Both tracks sounds wonderful and clear, with just some light static, and no distortion, no pops or clicks. 'Julia' in particular sounds wonderful, no pops, no clicks, a couple of light tics in the middle. A great performance rounding off this great 1st vinyl. Side 3. begins with the rockous 'Birthday', which sounds great, bright loud superb perfect audio. Moving into the paired down 'Yer Blues' which also plays with minimal occasional light background static, the kind found on all vinyls. 'Mother Natures Son' sounds great, with very little detectable surface sound. 'Take it Easy' and 'Sexy Sadie' continue with the high standard of the rest of the album, with just a couple of very light pop between this and 'Helter Skelter', which plays superbly, flawless audio. 'Long Long Time', another of the quietest tracks on The White Album, plays with no loud pops clicks. A couple of light tics and some light static to be found, the vocals are clear and crisp. Great music with great clarity, and so hard to find with this type of sound. Side 4. begins with 'Revolution' and plays with some light static in the runs ins. There are three or four very light pops at the very start of the track, during the first few bars, (the only pops or clicks on the whole album) but they are very light, almost hidden under the audio, and the whole track plays with great clear audio throughout. No other pops or tics or notable static. 'Honey Pie', sounds great, with minimal static for such a paired down track. A couple of very light static tics only, and great clear sound. 'Savoy Truffle' plays with bright clear sound, no pops and no noticeable static at all. 'Cry Baby Cry' and 'Can you Take Me Back', which plays so clear and bright, with a little very light static only, and certainly nothing prominent. The long abstract 'Revolution 9', a track that can be plague by unwanted noise, sounds superb, with no loud loud pops or clicks, just some light static and a few faint background tics. Leading into the final track of this Beatles masterpiece, 'Good Night', again a quiet track, so often playing with poor distorted sound. Here there is some very light occasional static but No pops or clicks, just very clear bright sound. The music jumps out, with definition and clarity, the vocals which come through with tremendous power. Its the same with the bass guitar and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear. The tonal quality make this a sensational pressing. With the clear and extra loud First cut engineering giving the audio a vibrant sound which cannot be beaten. A great all round example of this classic vinyl. Staggering first STEREO EXPORT mix, unlike the re-issues which lack the impact. This is a great Audio pleasure. Barely any light static, the album sounds brilliant with no obvious sound blemishes apart from three very light pops at the start of 'Revolution', and no loud pops or clicks at all. I would have to give it a NEAR MINT grading. THE RECORD - Visual Grading A great set of glossy vinyls, and a really thick pressing. Deep clear grooves that can only be found on the original early pressings, this vinyl set has not been over played. Both vinyl very few light marks and no scratches. There is one 4cm thumbnail mark on side two and a small 2cm scuff on side four, but they are completely non sounding, not deep needle marks that would cause defects to the sounds, as the sound grading testifies. There are a few small hairlines, and a few light marks but on the whole this is a pristine set on vinyls. There are a few faint handling marks, this vinyl has been played very little and very carefully and shows no groove wear what so ever. Unbelievable to think this vinyl is over 40 years old! I would strictly grade them at EXCELLENT PLUS to NEAR MINT. VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING: Yes, NONE visible what so ever, when tested be sight and on a moving turntable. THE COVER Comes with the original TOP Loading NUMBERED Gatefold Sleeve by GARROD & LOFTHOUSE. A nice example, it is made in the heavy thick card and is fully laminated with the title THE BEATLES embossed under the laminate. Number 0401220 . This really is a great cover, with little to fault it, other than some very light handling marks and corner wear, and few light scratches and indentations but nothing prominent. The cover has maintained its creamish white sheen, and light wear only. There is no feathering to the Top openings, which is very rare. Easily grades as EXCELLENT PLUS! THE LABELS Famous Apple labels are in amazing Condition, no marks and barely any discernible spindle wear. Any spindle traces that are there are extremely light, barely visible. Great all round examples, with no loss of colour. For a 1st press EXPORT edition to have labels like these is truly astonishing. Great examples. Grades at EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT! THE INNERSSo hard to find in original condition, and not replaced by late replicas, which are significantly different. Made out of very thin paper these Original BLACK inner sleeves in VERY GOOD PLUS to EXCELLENT condition. A great set. No seem splits, just lightly creased. NO tears to the die cut centres and NO tears to the top opening edges. These incredibly delicate inner sleeve were usually destroyed and are often passed off with replacement replica inners, which are obviously different in form. So rare to find a complete original set in this condition. Incredible! THE POSTER Large original 1st press Lip Stick PHOTO-MONTAGE and LYRIC SHEET, 57 x 87 cms in superb EXCELLENT PLUS condition. Again, not to be confused with posters from later pressings, there 1st press posters are unique. This great example comes with NO tears or splits, no real wear on the edges and some light discolouration on a couple the edges only. - No tears other than tiny opening at the centre of the creases, no more than a couple of millimetres. No writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks. A superb original example. THE PRINTS Comes with all Four ORIGINAL Photo Prints which are in NEAR MINT condition. All Four Prints, 20 x 29 cms, on the original Thick Card. - No tears, no writing, no pin-holes, no glue or sellotape marks. Some light scratches and creasing only. A great and rare original set, not replacements. Guaranteed! THE PHOTO SPACER Also comes with the ULTRA RARE PHOTO SPACER. These were included in the original 1st pressings only, as an aid to hang the four prints. As the four prints were nearly always stuck to peoples walls, this thin paper guide was nearly always lost or discarded. So incredibly rare to have one in EXCELLENT PLUS condition, very light creasing only. RARITY FINDING A COMPLETE TOP OPENING 1st PRESS EXPORT WHITE ALBUM SET IN GREAT ALL ROUND CONDITION IS UNBELIEVABLY RARE. ONE IN THIS STUNNING ALL ROUND CONDITION, WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL INSERTS IS POSSIBLY UNQUIE! I aim to describe all items as accurately as possible, and offer a full refund on return if for any reason you are not completely happy with the item description..VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:The highest quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and is what I always aim for. I only sell records that play with TOP AUDIO performance, super clear sound uninterrupted by hiss or other interference. Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound or occasional light tics during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves. This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops, repeating tics or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl. Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.
