The Little Indians Box Set (11 LPs in box) 2006, Germany/Little Indians 10/9/8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 and bonus disc....Here's something that never turns up for sale. The Little Indians label was a precursor to the Shadoks Music label. They issued ten albums between 1997 and 1999, all deluxe reissues of late 60s-early 70s albums that are impossible to find in their original formats. I've been around a bit myself, and I've never seen half of them as originals in the flesh. In 2006, a handful of these box box sets were assembled (I think between 10 and 15 in total), containing the remaining copies of the Little Indians albums. They weren't re-pressed for the box set project, only the box itself was new, as well as the bonus disc. The bonus disc is an exact reissue of the mysterious 100% Unknown Fibers - The 1970 Laguna Christmas Party LP (originally issued in 1971). Despite the small number of box sets made, apparently the outer boxes themselves were not all exactly alike. The copy on offer has a green snakeskin finish, with a graphic of ten little Indian children embossed in gold foil. The condition is M-, like new. Inside the box, we have eleven albums:Simla Beat (2 LP) 1997, Germany/Ten Little Indians. SEALED This double LP reissues both of the incredibly rare Simla Beat Battle Of The Bands albums from India, originally issued as single LPs in 1970-1971. Simla was a cigarette brand and their sponsorship of the annual Battle Of The Bands competition was intended to promote smoking among young people. The bands are largely crude garage rock that sound of mid-60s vintage.Arcesia: "Reachin'" 1997, Germany/Nine Little Indians. SEALED Reissue of the California private press LP in a newly-designed jacket. This is a very odd LP that freaks out a lot of collectors due the insane vocalist, who was older than your dad. Much of the music is decidedly more appealing, in a Doors-y way. Jungle 1997, Germany/Eight Little Indians. SEALED Reissue of the 1969 private press from Vermont. Excellent period sound with hard guitar and organ. The original was issued in a plain white jacket; this reissue was given a newly-designed jacket in blue velvet embossed with foil. Victoria 1998, Germany/Seven Little Indians. SEALED Reissue of the 1971 New Jersey private press. Male and female lead vocals, druggy pop and psych sound for the most part. The original was issued in a plain white jacket; this reissue was given a newly-designed jacket in red velvet embossed with foil. This LP should contain an insert.Butterfingers 1998, Germany/Six Little Indians. SEALED Reissue of the circa 1970 private press LP from Texas. Crude soulish hard rock with druggy vocals. The original was issued in a plain white jacket; this reissue was given a newly-designed R. Crumb-style sleeve by artist Step Albers. Papa Bear's Medicine Show 1998, Germany/Five Little Indians. SEALED Reissue of the 1970 Canadian private press. This was an excellent rural rock/psychedelic band from Vancouver who only managed a couple of singles during their heyday... this album of studio and live tracks was assembled by their former manager after they had broken up.The Walflower Complextion (2 LP) 1998, Germany/Four Little Indians. SEALED This double LP reissues the two incredibly rare albums by this garage band from Colombia, The Walflower Complextion (1966) and When I'm Far From You (1967). The band members were actually Americans, studying at the Colegio Nueva Granada in Bogota. They play tuff R&B and garage rock in a Rolling Stones style. Damon: "Song Of A Gypsy" 1998, Germany/Three Little Indians. SEALED Lovely exact tolex-wrapped foil-embossed gatefold reissue of the 1968 psychedelic LP from southern California. This comes with a bonus 7" EP containing non-LP tracks and an insert.Maitreya Kali: "Apache - Inca" (2 LP) 1999, Germany/Two Little Indians. SEALED Reissue of Maitreya Kali's two private press LPs from 1972, both of which were compiled by the artist from his tape archive and contain music from about 1967 until 1971. The sounds range from electric psychedelic rock with a full band to loner folk. Apache was released as single album first, then some months later when Inca was pressed, Inca was packaged as both a single LP and also as Disc Two of a double LP with Apache and that is what is reissued here. This package should contain inserts.Ladies W.C. 1999, Germany/One Little Indian. SEALED Reissue of the 1969 psychedelic LP from Venezuela. Lots of wah-wah guitar and vocal hooks make this a great listen. The lyrics are in English as the band leader was an American living in Venezuela. This 1999 reissue is pressed on colored vinyl, like the 1969 original pressing was.100% Unknown Fibers 2006, Germany/No label No #. M- disc, M- cover, this is like new. This "bonus disc" to the Little Indians Box was never produced in quantity by the label. Only enough copies for the box set were made by hand as lathe cuts. I have played this LP through one time and there were no tracking problems. This mysterious LP was originally issued in 1971 and documents the 1970 Laguna Beach Christmas Festival, which featured a number of local and uncredited hard rock bands. This reissue includes a copy of the original insert, and the cover/labels are rubber-stamped just like the 1971 pressing. Everything I offer is guaranteed. I try to note any flaws with the disc and the cover so that there are no surprises when the box arrives.
